Jio-Mediatek to launch gaming tournament, prizes worth ₹12.5 lakh can be won: How to register

Reliance Jio today announced a partnership with MediaTek. As a part of this partnership, the two companies have announced an online gaming tournament called ‘Gaming Masters’.

Registrations for the upcoming 70-day long esports tournament began today and they will go on until January 9, 2021. The esports tournament, on the other hand, will begin on January 13, 2021, and it will go on until March 7, 2021.

Reliance Jio says that the Gaming Masters is a grassroot undertaking by MediaTek and Jio, that is meant to revolutionize online gaming. It will test a gamer’s skill, teamwork and endurance in a virtual gaming arena. The winners will win a prize pool of ₹12,50,000.

Gaming Masters will feature Garena's self-developed Free Fire, which will be available to both Jio and non-Jio users through the JioGames platform.

There will be no registration or participation fee for the gamers, according to the note. The registrations for all Jio and non-Jio users have already begun and will be open till 9 January. Indian telecom company Reliance Jio has partnered with chipset maker MediaTek to launch Gaming Masters, an esports tournament on the JioGames platform for Indian gamers.

The 70-day tournament will feature Garena’s battle royale game Free Fire and offers a prize pool of ₹12.5 lakh. The grand finale winner will win a cash prize of ₹3 lakh.

The tournament registrations are now live on the JioGames platform and will remain open till January 10. The tournament will begin on January 13 and the grand finale is scheduled for March 1.
